TruPath’s Alcohol & Drug Rehab Centers for Addiction

Featuring a network of highly-rated addiction treatment centers, TruPath offers people struggling with addiction a path to lasting recovery. Our drug and alcohol rehab and detox programs target every aspect of addiction so that each person receives comprehensive and individualized recovery support. We offer clients a complete continuum of addiction care so that clients can get the level of support they need when they need it.

Addiction is a complex disease. Without formal rehab treatment, most people are unable to stop abusing drugs and alcohol. We provide them with the tools and resources they need to manage their addiction for good. Whether you’re suffering from an opioid addiction, alcohol addiction, or addiction to prescription drugs like benzodiazepines, you can benefit by enrolling in an inpatient or outpatient addiction treatment program at a TruPath recovery center near you.

Patients choose TruPath for several reasons. First, we offer comprehensive care. This means we feature intervention support, medical detox programs, residential rehab treatment, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient treatment, day treatment programs, aftercare, and more. Secondly, our programs include medically sanctioned therapies and holistic treatment. We proudly offer both evidence-based treatment modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy and holistic therapy approaches such as yoga. Together, they help patients to achieve long-term recovery success.

Our rehabs boast positive environments that are safe, private, and comfortable. When enrolled in our treatment programs, patients can expect support from highly trained, qualified, and experienced clinicians and therapists who are empathetic and knowledgeable regarding substance use disorders. We stay on the cusp of new addiction research while relying on the best treatment methods to serve our diverse patients who come from all walks of life.

Medical detox for alcohol addiction is a crucial part of alcoholism recovery, but it’s only the first step of a recovery journey. Alcohol detox targets an individual’s physical dependence on alcohol. It doesn’t address the psychological or behavioral aspects of addiction, but it does ensure that patients’ bodies are weaned from the substance. Alcohol withdrawals can not only be uncomfortable, but certain alcohol withdrawal symptoms can be life-threatening. Until their body is free from alcohol dependence, they’ll find it difficult to focus on their treatments. Our clinicians support them through this process, monitoring their health and seeing that patients are safe, comfortable, and supported. We can provide medications that can reduce the unpleasantness associated with withdrawal symptoms. After alcohol detox, patients can begin the next stage of their treatment program by following the continuum of care.

Drug detox works similarly to alcohol detox. However, patients may experience different types of withdrawal symptoms depending on the substance of dependence. For example, it’s not uncommon for people with opioid addiction to experience flu-like symptoms like chills and nausea during withdrawal. Again, our clinicians can provide treatments and detox medications to dramatically reduce the discomfort caused by drug withdrawal symptoms. These symptoms tend to peak anywhere between 24 and 72 hours after the last use of the substance. After that point, the withdrawal symptoms generally begin to subside on their own. After they have completed medical drug detox, they can begin the next part of their addiction treatment plan.

The medical detox process usually follows set protocols that clients can expect. After our rehab onboarding process, we can begin detox as soon as possible. Depending on a patient’s health and behavioral health evaluation, they may start medication-assisted treatment during detox. Some people have a dual diagnosis, also known as a co-occurring disorder, and may need to take prescription medications for depression or other mental health conditions. Often, patients will experience mild withdrawal symptoms that usually grow in severity over time following their last use. These symptoms of drug and alcohol withdrawal peak a few days into treatment and then gradually decline.

During drug and alcohol detox, staff will provide 24-hour medical and psychological support to ensure patients are progressing through the process without complications. We are able to provide medical treatment that reduces the risk of any complications and helps patients feel as comfortable as possible. Most people complete medical drug and alcohol detox within 5-7 days. A few people may complete the process in under a week while others may need longer than a week to complete the process. The length of time for detox to be completed depends on the individual’s unique chemistry, a patient’s age or weight, how long they have been addicted, and the drug they’re addicted to. After detox, they can begin their inpatient or outpatient addiction treatment program which will address their mental and behavioral dependence on drugs or alcohol.

Alcohol rehab at TruPath treatment centers involves both evidence-based and holistic treatments. During rehab programs, whether inpatient or outpatient, clients will attend both individual and group therapies. We offer many different types of addiction treatments for alcoholism. Different treatments target different aspects of addiction. Clients who have a dual diagnosis may also attend treatment sessions for their mental health disorder.

Millions of people are affected by alcohol use disorder. Managing this condition requires the development of skills and strategies to protect sobriety. During treatment, clients will unravel why and how they came to abuse alcohol and will work with their therapists to find ways to prevent those triggers from leading to relapse.

During drug rehab programs at TruPath addiction centers, clients will focus on the factors that led them to abuse drugs in the first place. Whether it’s unhealthy thinking patterns or past trauma, the triggers of drug use don’t fade with detox. Clients have to develop ways to manage them or they are likely to cause relapse. TruPath recovery rehabs offer many different treatment approaches. Each client may respond better to some than others, but with our well-rounded support, they can expect to develop the skills needed to successfully maintain their recovery and end their dependence on illicit or addictive prescription drugs for good.

The cost of drug or alcohol rehab treatment varies with the level of care that patients require (i.e. residential treatment is more expensive than outpatient treatment because of its 24-hour support) and the length of time that people spend in drug or alcohol rehab. Consequently, clients can expect individualized costs depending on their treatment plan. Many insurance plans today cover the cost of substance abuse treatment. When you contact TruPath to discuss our plans and their costs, we can also help you determine what your insurance will cover if you have medical insurance. Some clients prefer to pay out of pocket for their treatment cost. Regardless of the price tag, it’s important to remember what a necessary investment addiction treatment is. It is an investment in one’s health and future.

Addiction studies by agencies like the National Institute on Drug Abuse demonstrate that the longer a person spends getting drug or alcoholism treatment, the less likely they are to suffer a relapse. The addiction recovery process can take months, even years. Long after people complete their addiction treatment plans, their recovery will continue to unfold. For this reason, many people seek ongoing support or continuing care like aftercare programming in order to maintain their recovery progress. Over time, the skills and coping methods that people learn in inpatient and outpatient rehab begin to become second nature to them. As they become more adept at managing their addiction, they’re better equipped to keep relapse at bay.

TruPath features short and long-term addiction treatments. Some clients reach their treatment milestones early and don’t require the support of a 60 or 90 day treatment program. On the other hand, many clients enroll in inpatient treatment for 30 days and then transition to outpatient treatment for an additional 30-90 days. In short, people can remain in therapy for as long as they need to.

A 30 day rehab program is usually the least amount of time that a person spends in a formal treatment program either on an inpatient or outpatient basis. Some people leave sooner, but medical detox can take a week or even longer; subsequent treatments are needed to address the psychological and behavioral aspects of addiction. Leaving too soon is never a good idea. Addiction is a complex chronic condition. Even after inpatient rehab or intensive outpatient rehab, recovery will continue to unfold long after formal treatment ends. During a 30 day treatment program, either on an inpatient or outpatient basis, clients can expect to focus on identifying the triggers that led them to abuse drugs or alcohol to develop strategies to cope successfully with those triggers whether they’re negative emotions like anger, workplace stress, toxic relationships, etc…

Managing triggers successfully takes time and support. That’s why many people transition from 30 day inpatient treatment programs to outpatient programs. During your addiction treatment at TruPath, you can gauge your recovery needs as you work through initial programming. As your support needs change, you can find a level of treatment support that suits your needs and preferences.

TruPath’s addiction recovery center also offers long-term treatment programs. Clients who have experienced an alcohol or drug abuse problem for years or who are suffering from a dual diagnosis often require a longer time getting formal treatment at addiction recovery centers. With continuing care that extends beyond the one month program, clients can get the support they need to more effectively manage their condition. We also offer many types of treatment. Often, clients choose to take advantage of our many different programs such as family therapy. So, while many clients do not require inpatient rehab treatment for 90 days, they often choose to attend outpatient rehab for various therapies that will help them during their continued recovery and as they transition back to their everyday lives.

TruPath features medically sanctioned therapies like one-on-one therapy as well as holistic and alternative treatments like yoga and art therapy. We offer many types of treatment because some clients respond to certain treatment options better than others. Each treatment has a slightly different addiction focus as well, which leads to a more comprehensive recovery plan. Whether attending an inpatient program or intensive outpatient program, clients can expect to participate in evidence-based therapies, holistic therapies, and alternative treatments, including 12 steps and meditation.

Today, most medical insurance plans feature coverage for substance abuse treatment as well as behavioral health therapy for cooccurring conditions. Our patient care network staff can discuss your insurance plan with you, helping you to determine what types of treatment are covered. Some plans, for example, will only cover 15 days of inpatient rehab but will cover outpatient programs in full. The Betty Ford Foundation and other organizations have lobbied hard to convince legislators and insurance providers of the necessity for alcohol and drug addiction treatment to be covered by insurance plans. With the passage of the Affordable Care Act, some level of addiction treatment coverage is now offered by insurance carriers.

Medication assisted treatment (MAT) has become an important substance abuse treatment, especially for opioid addiction and alcohol addiction. These types of addiction involve powerful cravings that can last beyond the detox process. Clinicians may provide medications that reduce these cravings and other withdrawal symptoms in order to ease the recovery process and help clients better focus on their addiction treatments. Medicationassisted treatment provides clients with relief from sometimes severe withdrawal symptoms that can detract from the recovery process and leave them more vulnerable to relapse. MAT can be featured anywhere during the recovery process–during detox, residential treatment, or during outpatient programs. It is only one addiction treatment, however, and not a cure. It is offered alongside other relevant treatments like cognitive behavioral therapy and group counseling.

As one of the most common types of addiction treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is an important aspect of TruPath alcohol and drug recovery therapies. During these treatment sessions, therapists help clients identify which of their thoughts and feelings motivate unhealthy actions such as abusing drugs or alcohol. By identifying these problematic thoughts, clients can then develop strategies to stop them and replace them with healthy thoughts and behaviors that support lasting recovery. CBT is used to treat many behavioral health problems such as anxiety and depression. For this reason, it features largely in dual diagnosis treatment at TruPath.

Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) is related to CBT but puts more emphasis on distress tolerance in order to help individuals build their coping skills. DBT operates on the notion that many alcohol and drug abusers turn to these substances to help them regulate their emotions. Consequently, this substance abuse treatment focuses on helping individuals manage their negative emotions with healthy coping strategies. During treatment sessions, clients can also expect to work with therapists to improve their communication and relationships with others. It’s not uncommon for addiction sufferers to experience difficulties in their relationships with loved ones. During DBT, they can spend time getting help with these issues and improving the way they deal with them.

Rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT) is based on the assumption that people’s beliefs impact their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. When these beliefs are irrational, unfounded, or unhealthy, they can have a profoundly negative impact on people’s thoughts and actions. During REBT, therapists help clients to confront problematic beliefs and help clients reframe their thoughts for improved behavior outcomes. At TruPath, our therapists have the professional education and credentials needed to employ therapies like REBT at our alcohol and drug rehab.

Since about a third of people suffering from substance use disorders also have a mental health disorder, TruPath features high-quality dual diagnosis treatment designed to address each client’s unique behavioral health needs. Cooccurring disorders involve an addiction and mental health condition such as depression or post traumatic stress disorder. These conditions are separate and distinct, but they can also negatively impact one another. The best treatment approaches for dual diagnosis are simultaneous. Addiction research is categorically in favor of simultaneous treatments for cooccurring conditions, which is why they are available at TruPath Recovery. Clients learn to manage both of their conditions at the same time to achieve positive recovery outcomes for both.

Relapse prevention necessarily governs many of the treatment approaches at TruPath. Our various treatment models provide clients with many different strategies for preventing relapse. As a treatment modality of its own, relapse prevention focuses on addressing “automatic thoughts” that can leave them vulnerable to relapse. During relapse prevention therapy, clients learn how to become more mindful of their thoughts so that they can take control of them. They also learn about the different stages of relapse so that they can identify when they are veering off of their recovery track.

Alternative treatments for drug and alcohol abuse are not medically sanctioned as substance abuse treatments–yet. Often, these treatments simply have not been carefully evaluated by a school of addiction studies. However, there is a substantial body of anecdotal evidence that suggests the efficacy of alternative treatments. In other words, many people find that they work by helping them to keep their recovery on track. Alternative treatments for addiction such as yoga and art therapy can greatly enhance the addiction recovery process. In fact, many people continue to take part in their treatments/activities long after they complete their TruPath addiction treatment program.

Many recovery advocacy groups and treatment centers promote acupuncture as an effective drug and alcohol addiction treatment. Acupuncture specialists employ long thin needles into specific skin locations in order to ease unpleasant withdrawal symptoms and cravings. For this reason, many clients find that this treatment is ideal during drug and alcohol detox when symptoms and cravings are most intense. An ancient practice that was first used in China, acupuncture may also ease symptoms of anxiety and stress and improve sleep.

Yoga is an ancient practice from India that has become popular in Western countries like the U.S. A person attending inpatient treatment or intensive outpatient treatment might include yoga in their treatment plan for its physical and mental benefits. During yoga, clients learn how to practice mindfulness as they focus on each movement and their breathing. Becoming more adept at practicing mindfulness helps recovering individuals control their automatic thoughts and negative emotions, which can pave the way to relapse if left unchecked. Clients at TruPath may wish to include yoga as part of their alcohol or drug addiction treatment plan.

Meditation is a holistic treatment offered at our recovery center. By practicing meditation, clients can clear their minds, which is a useful skill for those times when they’re experiencing tremendous stress or negative emotions like fear and anger. In other words, meditation is an excellent coping strategy that clients can rely on when they return to their lives. Clients who cannot manage their triggers are vulnerable to relapse. Using mindfulness techniques learned in patient or outpatient addiction treatment, clients can better manage those triggers and prevent relapse.

During group therapy at TruPath, clients participate in supporting their peers and discussing topics introduced by therapists. A typical day in a treatment program will often involve peer group counseling and is a cornerstone of 12 step programs. Addiction recovery success rates are linked to programs that offer both individual and group therapies. At our addiction center, clients can also expect group therapy to involve a strong educational component as we help them to understand their condition–what drives it–and how knowing about the principles of drug addiction can help them manage it better.

During one on one therapy, clients have the opportunity to work with an experienced and highly trained addiction therapist to help them manage their addiction with their own specific life circumstances in mind. Each person has different triggers and different circumstances that have impacted their alcohol and drug abuse problems. During individual therapy, clients can work with their therapist to find better ways to cope with their issues without turning to alcohol and drugs. One on one therapy is not a specialized treatment; it forms the basis of most addiction treatment center programs.

TruPath rehab programming includes family therapy among its treatment offerings. Family therapy focuses on family and children’s needs–not just the addiction sufferer. Therapists help families cope with the recovery process and to provide their loved one with healthy types of support that will enhance recovery. While abusing drugs and alcohol, addiction sufferers often find that their relationships suffer. Substance abuse takes a toll on the whole family, so therapists strive to help families cope by communicating better and finding ways to repair their relationships. Of course, every family is different, so TruPath therapists individual therapy sessions to suit the needs of each family.

Trauma informed therapy is a specialized treatment that focuses on clients’ past trauma or traumas. It’s not uncommon for people suffering from drug and alcohol addiction to have experienced past traumas. These traumatic events can take a toll on their behavioral health and pave a path to addiction. Therapists help clients address their traumatic past and find healthier ways to cope. They may practice distress tolerance skills and strategies for preventing trauma from occurring in the future.

Physical fitness supports healthy living and, in turn, can support addiction recovery. As a holistic treatment for addiction, physical fitness is something most clients can participate in regardless of their skill level. The aim of physical fitness therapy is to help clients improve their fitness and take advantage of the physical and mental health benefits that physical fitness promotes. While walking, jogging, or working out, clients experience the release of feel-good enzymes that can ease both physical and mental pain. Consequently, when suffering from stress or negative emotions, clients can perform a fitness activity as a coping strategy instead of turning to drugs and alcohol.

Though not specifically endorsed in medical and professional education for addiction medicine and treatment, experiential therapy is showing great promise as an alternative treatment for substance addiction. In fact, at some point a graduate school of addiction or well-known organization like the Butler Center for Research might conduct a study that paves the way for experiential therapy to become a medically sanctioned program. For now, however, there is plenty of anecdotal evidence to suggest that the use of positive experiences and activities (i.e. hiking, horseback riding, rock climbing) can enhance the recovery process. If nothing else, they offer clients the opportunity to fill the void of time left when they stop using drugs and alcohol and stop engaging with friends who are involved in substance abuse.

TruPath Recovery offers comprehensive addiction treatment programs that include detox programs, day treatment, inpatient rehab, intensive outpatient treatment, intervention support, family programs, holistic treatments, and more. Our medically sanctioned therapeutic addiction treatments are complemented by holistic therapies. Together, these treatment methods can support lasting recovery. We also have specialized treatment program offerings for conditions like dual diagnosis.

If you are suffering from a substance use disorder, you can rely on TruPath addiction treatment center for help ending your reliance on alcohol or drugs.
